3MF to STL converter
Turn a 3MF project into a plain STL that any slicer, CAD program or model site accepts.
Runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.
When you need an STL instead of a 3MF
3MF is the better format: it keeps units, colours, plates and print settings in one file. But plenty of places still only take STL: older slicers, some CAD programs, CNC and laser software, and several model-sharing sites. This converter pulls the shape out of a 3MF and saves it as a binary STL.
How to convert 3MF to STL
- Drop your .3mf file into the box above (or click to choose it).
- Check the 3D preview, the size and the triangle count.
- Press Download STL.
What carries over
- Kept: the shape, in millimetres, with every object in its place.
- Dropped: colours, materials, plate layouts, supports painted in the slicer, and print settings. STL has nowhere to store them.
Questions
Is this 3MF to STL converter really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no limit on how many files you convert. It runs in your browser, so it costs us nothing to run.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion happens on your own computer, inside this browser tab. The file never leaves your PC.
What happens to colours and multiple plates?
STL only stores shape, so colours, materials and slicer settings are dropped. Every object in the 3MF is combined into one STL in the positions they had in the file.
Will the size be right?
Yes. 3MF files are in millimetres and the STL keeps the same dimensions, which is what every slicer expects.
How big a file can it handle?
Most files up to a few hundred megabytes. Very large files depend on how much memory your computer has.
